An impressive air war
Adapted from the book Devotion: An Epic Story of Heroism, Friendship, and Sacrifice by Adam Makos, the film Devotion arrives today in the Netflix catalog. This war movie follows the incredible true story of Jesse L. Brown, the first African-American naval aviator in the United States Navy.
This feature film is directed by JD Dillard (The Outsider, The Twilight Zone), a filmmaker who is attached to a Star Wars film project on the planet of the Sith with screenwriter Matt Owens (Marvel’s Luke Cage), which we do not no news yet.

In the meantime, JD Dillard signs with Devotion an impressive war film which tells the exploits of Jesse L. Brown but also those of Tom Hudner, his loyal wingman. The two support each other life and death in this historical drama set in the midst of the Korean War.
For the main roles, the film can count on the impeccable performances of two rising Hollywood stars: Jonathan Majors (The Harder They Fall, Loki) and Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) who portray men as strong as they are sensitive.
If the film makes it possible to come back to an unknown fact in American history, it is also worth for its breathtaking sequences in the air which come to compete with Top Gun: Maverick.
Thanks to the work of the director and his director of photography Erik Messerschmidt (Mindhunter, Mank), you will be amazed by the thrilling flight scenes of the feature film.
