the Battle 4, an online charity event, took place on the weekend of March 4-6 at the Stade de France. A hundred French streaming talents gathered for more than two days of live for the benefit of the association APARTfor young people wishing to orient themselves professionally, as well as Handicap International. On the program: tournaments, happenings and a closing concert. A look back at this event which broke all records during its very first edition.
What is Battle 4?
It’s simply 120 streamers as well as 50 VIP guestswho streamed on Twitch for more than 50h. All proceeds from donations and tickets sold were donated to charity. Big names from Twitch FR like Bob Lennon, Trixy, Bakaboo, Feldup, ThéoBaBac, Kinstaar, Lutti, Chris, Gob GG, and many others participated in the event! Unusual personalities were also invited to participate, including Koh Lanta 2021 teamwho knew how to bring his stone to the building.
The weekend was punctuated by various events such as the Battle 4 Rocket League All-Starsthe Battle 4 Comedy Club as well as the Concert Battle 4 Festfor which Feldup, Théobabac and Maxence performed.
A six-figure jackpot
While the event has recently ended, the Stade de France Twitter account announces the overall prize pool: €427,000 collected for the benefit of APART and Handicap International.
Among the streamers with the most donations are Fildrong with €47,000 harvested or Epsylonetattoo which raised over €22,000 of donations. The latter will therefore, in accordance with its donation goals, have a mullet cut!
The public in person and online have therefore witnessed pledges of goal donations and streamers, each more unleashed than the other, in good spirits and the immensity of the Stade de France.
The balance sheet of the Battle 4
For a first edition, the Battle 4 is a huge success. It’s almost half a million euros in donations which were raised thanks to the efforts of streamers and the generosity of their community. By way of comparison, the Z Event (formerly called the Avengers Project) raised €170,000 during its very first edition. The main thing is obviously to raise money for a good cause!
It is true that the ZeratoR project has launched a whole new solidarity trend which over the years has never ceased to develop. Maybe the Battle 4 will know get a place in the middle of French streaming and that we will have the chance to attend other editions in the years to come.
A second edition next year has yet to be officially announced by the organizers. We will already have to wait for streamers to recover from this eventful weekend. Who knows, maybe, like the Z Event, the Battle 4 will grow and will collect several million euros in the next few years!
