A skeleton discovered in a greenhouse, possibly that of a man who has been missing for 10 years

Human remains have been discovered in the greenhouse in the garden of a 61-year-old woman in the town of Oradour-sur-Glane.

This Wednesday, a 61-year-old woman was arrested and indicted for “undermining the integrity of a corpse” ten years after the unsolved disappearance of her spouse, AFP learned this Friday from the Limoges prosecutor’s office.

In 2012, this same woman had mentioned the voluntary departure of her husband. Today, she is now suspected of having hidden the body all this time. She was released under judicial supervision at the end of her police custody on Wednesday.

A strained relationship with her partner

The 61-year-old woman was heard by investigators earlier this week. She claimed she found her partner dead on the bed one morning according to a source familiar with the matter who told AFP. Panicked, she had decided to drag him to the garden to bury him underground according to his words.

However, she had also mentioned around her that her spouse had left the house without leaving a trace, while specifying that the atmosphere was deleterious within their home.

This disappearance had not attracted attention, until a notary tried to locate a man whose name appeared in an inheritance case.

Concerning the corpse, it was extracted from the garden on the indications of the spouse. Analyzes will be made on the bones and the samples taken on the spot by the technicians of the criminal identification.

They have also been entrusted to experts from the Criminal Research Institute of the National Gendarmerie (IRCGN) whose headquarters are in Pontoise in the Val-d’Oise.

In addition, the investigations entrusted to the gendarmerie of the research section of Limoges will continue to have details on the origin of the death. Whether it is intentional or unintentional.
