The host doesn’t just have friends in the industry… On the occasion of an interview given to our colleagues from La Tribune SundaySunday April 28, 2024, Laurent Ruquier, emblematic figure of the French media landscape, spoke about his professional projectsbut also on his differences with Thierry Ardisson. This relationship, once friendly, was indeed put to the test two years ago when they collaborated on the show Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow broadcast on France 2. “The principle of the show is to show the evolution of discourse and mentalities, the positions that were taken at the time”had detailed in November 2022, the man in black about the program to TV Mag. Laurent Ruquier, driven by a feeling of friendship towards Thierry Ardisson, had at the time accepted his request to become co-producer of the show.
Laurent Ruquier: “It’s really definitely over”
However, after its broadcast, Thierry Ardisson allegedly blamed him following bad audiences. “After the broadcast, he was grotesque saying the bad ratings were my faultin order to preserve its future interests within France Télévisions”, assured Hugo Manos’ companion. For Laurent Ruquier, this act was “a stab in the back”. The facilitator of Big Heads however continued: “He’s not a reliable person. When he was at Bolloré, he spoke ill of France Télévisions, and now that he is at France Télévisions, he speaks ill of Bolloré.” For the 61-year-old host, his friendship with Thierry Ardisson is “really definitely finished”. Also interviewed by La Tribune Sunday regarding the Legion of Honor awarded to Audrey Crespo-Mara’s husband, the host declared in complete transparency: “There are much worse people than him who have received this decoration, so I have no problem with it”. For his part, Laurent Ruquier will be present on the jury of Mask Singer on TF1, from Friday May 3, 2024. “The idea of being on the jury and having to guess who is hiding under the costumes amused me a lot”he added.
