The new season of Koh-Lanta, The Sacred Fire, is currently being broadcast on TF1. But while a former contestant shared some good news with the show’s fans, it’s a sadder story that another adventurer told on her Instagram account this Wednesday, March 8.
Participant of the 2016 edition in Thailand and of the 2018 season The battle of heroes, Cassandre Girard had marked the spirits with an insect bite that had disfigured her. This time it’s a failed cosmetic surgery that transformed herand earned him some great scares.
Some personalities who use it are changed, as many suspect for Kim Basinger, but things went much further for Cassandra. She says in her post: “A year ago, something really rare and unlucky happened to me. I almost lost my sight and my life”. Three and a half years ago, she had to undergo nose surgery but it didn’t go as planned. She then explains:I avoided meeting people, taking picturesto look at my reflection, avoiding talking about the fact that I had undergone surgery, even if it was more than obvious”.

The adventurer starts two first procedures, which go well: “I was happy againconfident again, I liked my appearance again, but I always avoided talking about it”.
And two years later, the product dissolving over time, she goes back for touch-ups, but nothing goes as planned: she feels pain at the time of the injection and the young woman sees two big red spots in her eyes when looking at herself in the mirror. A nurse explains to her that she must remove what she has done, but the stains do not disappear.
Living in Australia, Cassandre goes to Sydney Eye Hospital: “At this point, I’m starting to lose my sight. My vision is blurred, the spots are getting bigger”. She then sees nothing and asks for help to be accompanied to the emergency room. A department head and a “small army of other doctors” quickly dissolve the product twice “The hyaluronic acid had traveled through a blood vessel into my brain, impairing my optic nerve. The very fact that I could still see was due to the cosmetic nurse injecting me with the antidote minutes after I that happened. As the product had passed through my brain, I was in danger of having a stroke“, she explains. She then remained under surveillance for several months: “I kept going back to the hospital almost every week to do tests, and the doctors couldn’t believe it.”

Cases similar to his are rare, and even more so to completely recover the sight after an incident of this kind. “The doctors decide to bring together a full panel, across Australia, of surgeons, doctors, professors, etc. to discuss the establishment ofa protocol that could help people in my situation to obtain the same result as me. To this day, we firmly believe that acting quickly is what saved me,” said Cassandre.
She later suffered from depression and put his health above all else. She is currently undergoing yoga training to become a teacher.
