A Star Wars Jedi: Survivor boss could be unbeatable due to a bug

Electronic Arts is rolling out a patch for its game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. It fixes various issues, including a bug that could make a boss invincible under certain circumstances.

In the video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, you face many enemies who all seek to murder you. Monsters, looters, Imperials, droids, and even Force-sensitives — clearly gone bad. Sometimes it’s even the decor that is hostile. But with skill, it is possible to outclass your opponents.

There is, however, a scenario where one of your opponents could become invincible no matter what you do.

This is a boss, which we encounter early in the game, but which we face later. Time to perfect your Jedi art, by accumulating swordsmanship, survival and Force mastery skills. This is Rayvis, a huge humanoid with purplish skin, sharp teeth and a sinister look. It’s a Gen’Dai, a species known to be difficult to kill.

Except that this “hard to kill” could become “impossible to defeat” in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Fortunately, a patch announced on May 9 is rolling out to the PC and console versions of the game. Among the promised changes is a fix for the encounter that pits you against Rayvis on the Shattered Moon.

At the time of the duel which opposes you to Rayvis, you are in search of a space compass which will allow you to determine the way to the planet Tanalorr. It turns out that Rayvis has information about this compass, but he doesn’t want to give it up. A fight then ensues between Cal Kestis — the protagonist — and the alien, which breaks down into two phases.

The fight can be raised for those who are not used to this kind of confrontation. This, even at an intermediate level of difficulty. But if you can’t defeat it, even by frankly reducing the challenge posed by this boss (in “story” mode, it’s a walk in the park), then the bug spotted by Electronic Arts may be to blame.

Players are encouraged to hit the game update as soon as it becomes available — everyone should have access to it this week.

Other patches for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

Beyond Rayvis, the patch intervenes on various points to settle a cascade of concerns. Incorrect display with HDR display mode, saves with errors or even collision bugs that can get the character stuck in a completely closed place. Several inconveniences of this nature have been corrected, specifies EA.

The detail of the patch note is accessible at this address. This is the fourth patch that the publisher is deploying to improve the gaming experience. In the wake of its release, the studio recognized that the title lacked finishing, making the immersion a little disappointing. In the days that followed, the first patches were sent, with immediately noticeable results.

The days and weeks will still be largely devoted to the general stability of the game. Moreover, the studio has outlined its next directions: it is a question, among other things, of a finer use of the processor and the graphics card, but also a better use of the performance of certain models of processors – in this case, the i7 and i9.
