the rover Perseverance still has great discoveries to share with us during his wanderings on March. This week, the robot sent us a sumptuous photo taken on the surface of the red planet.

Perseverance’s mission continues 78 million kilometers from Earth. Since its arrival on Mars in February 2021, the rover has given us sumptuous images, but also exploits in the company of its sidekick, the Ingenuity helicopter. The latter never stops smashing his own speed and distance records in the “sky” of this other world.

A snapshot for history

But this week, it’s Perseverance that delights us with a photo captured on the red planet. You can see rock formations taking on amazing appearances.

In the image released by NASA (see below), you can see what looks like a snake’s head. However, netizens mostly noticed this stone balancing on a rock. A scene which social networks have obviously seized by diverting it for humorous purposes.

For their part, scientists are quite logically delighted by this photo taken in the old delta of the Jezero crater river. A place that could teach us Mars has hosted microbial life in the past… or not.
