A subsidiary of Rubis becomes the green electricity supplier for Leroy Merlin – 02/03/2023 at 12:21

(AOF) – Leroy Merlin, leader in home improvement in France, and Photosol, a major player in the production of photovoltaic energy (subsidiary of the Rubis group), announce the signing of an electricity supply contract (corporate PPA). Two solar installations located in the Nouvelle Aquitaine region will be built for an average annual volume of 45 GWh of green electricity. The construction of these facilities in the municipalities of Bellac (Haute-Vienne) and Mainzac (Charente) will begin in the second half of 2023 with commissioning scheduled for a year later.

Thanks to its know-how in the field of agrivoltaism, Photosol has designed these two projects to guarantee the maintenance and development of agricultural activity under the panels. Thus, they will allow farmers to diversify their activities without impacting the quality and yield of the land. These parks will be 100% owned by Rubis Photosol, which will maintain and operate the 38 MWp installed.

This contract with Leroy Merlin, a brand of the Adeo Group, is signed for a period of 20 years, during which all of the electricity produced as well as the guarantees of origin and capacity will be transferred to Leroy Merlin. This corporate PPA will eventually cover 17% of the annual consumption of the leader in home improvement in France.
