a superb game to watch for fans who are missing it

In the absence of a new Dishonored which seems for the moment to be nothing more than a sweet dream, here is a very promising game which draws great inspiration from it.

The last time we heard about Dishonored was in 2017 with the terrible news of its cancellation due to disappointing sales of the second game. When Xbox closed Arkane Austin last May, it sounded like a final blow to a high-quality stealth franchise, with the Lyon studio currently working on Deathloop, and now on developing a Blade game in partnership with Marvel. But a newly announced and very promising game seems to be taking up the torch.

A promising new game reminiscent of Dishonored

Developed by Push On and currently scheduled for an as yet undetermined date on PC, Alkahest claims to be a mixture of many particularly popular licenses. In addition to Dishonored, its studio indicates that it wants to offer a worthy heir to the excellent Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, with a few touches of inspiration from Kingdom Come Deliverance. A cocktail that is explosive and intriguing to say the least, which here takes the form of a trailer that is visually impressive to say the least.

We can see a first-person perspective in a dark fantasy universe. The character seems to be able to fight both with his weapons and by interacting with the environment. It will be possible to make a tree fall on an opponent’s head, push him into the void or break a fence with a well-felt kick to create an opening for archery. The title should thus give pride of place to the player’s creativity and inventiveness.

The title also features, instead of magic, a certain emphasis on alchemy, like a certain The Witcher 3. We will be able to make oils, bombs, traps and other concoctions. To return to the Dishonored inspiration, a gameplay entirely centered on stealth as a more brutal approach both seem viable, depending on the style of play of each. Here is in any case a first-person RPG to watch, for the moment only planned on PC, but without a specific date or release window.
