a surprise conference on PS5 and PSVR 2 games!

Surprise! There will definitely be a State of Play this month and it’s coming even sooner than expected. On the program, PS5, PSVR 2 and PS4 games. Here’s everything we know.

Morning surprise. Sony announced a new State of Play on the sidelines of the Tokyo Game Show. No big Showcase as usual, but a smaller event. Here’s when and how to watch this conference.

The start of the school year will be rich in announcements. While the Tokyo Game Show 2022 will open its doors in two short days, the big publishers are finally ready to communicate. Along with this afternoon’s Nintendo Direct, players will also get a State of Play for the month of September. The appointment is given this Tuesday, September 13 at 11:59 p.m. French time, on Twitch and on YouTube.

Be careful however, this is in no way a PlayStation Showcase, a larger event. The conference tonight will indeed last about 20 minutes, with announcements around new projects, as well as gameplay and updates on games already known from the PS5, PS4 and PS VR 2.

What to expect ? Which PS5 and PSVR 2 games will be shown?

This new presentation has amazing updates from our amazing Japanese partners and a few surprises from other developers around the world. says Sony in its official blog post. TGS 2022 requires, the focus will be primarily on Japanese games, but we can expect to see the next big Western releases. In total, these will be 10 games coming soon to PS5, PS4 and PSVR 2 which will be shown during the State of Play. But which ones?

Present in some way at the Tokyo Game Show 2022, Final Fantasy 16 had promised to give news soon. Perhaps the JRPG expected in 2023 will make an appearance at State of Play, along with Resident Evil 4 Remake. On the PS VR 2 side, eyes naturally turn to Horizon Call of the Mountain, but also Resident Evil Village, which will be compatible with the new headset. Obviously, it’s hard not to imagine God of War Ragnarok not being shown during the event, although one can imagine the next big exclusive returning to its own State of Play closer to its release. There are many candidates, but with conferences of this ilk it is better to temper one’s enthusiasm. However, we are not immune to pleasant surprises.
