“The mission then changed”, explained Léon Charles. “The mission was to arrest the President of the Republic and the operation was mounted from there: 22 other individuals then entered Haiti”, he added.

The interrogations carried out with the 18 Colombian citizens arrested since Wednesday allowed the Haitian police to learn that Charles Emmanuel Sanon had recruited the 26 members of the commando via the services of a Venezuelan security company called CTU, based in Florida.

“When we, the police, blocked the progress of these bandits after they had committed their crime, the first person that one of the attackers called was Charles Emmanuel Sanon. He made contact with two other people whom we consider to be intellectual authors of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse ”, said Léon Charles without detailing the identity of these two suspects.
