For two months, a Spanish teenager addicted to video games was hospitalized because of his addiction. According to the Jacques-Ier University, this would be the first clinical case in the world of a minor admitted for this dependence.

For almost five years, the famous game Fortnite has continued to make people happy, and if it is also popular, it can quickly make the most passionate addicted. This is what happened to this young boy, who for several weeks refused to leave his room to play non-stop, while neglecting his hygiene and his diet. Since the loss of his mother, who died of cancer, the teenager would indeed have completely cut himself off from the outside world. “The game has become a refuge for his emotional experiences”, say university experts.

It was then decided to hospitalize him for a period of two months. It was during his stay in the hospital that a diagnosis was made on the teenager who suffered from autism spectrum disorders (ASD), social anxiety but also complicated bereavement (CD).
