a tip for the breakdown of the loyalty program

The PlayStation Stars loyalty program is not in its best shape on PS5 and PS4. But it should get better very soon, and in the meantime, you can find out if you have been credited with your points.

The outage of PlayStation Stars, the PS5 & PS4 loyalty program, has not yet been resolved, but things are progressing. An Internet user discovered that a version of the PS App, which allows access, was in the final stages of testing and there should be something new in the days to come. Recovery may be gradual, although much of the program appears to be working. Despite the malfunctions, Sony continued to count the efforts of the players.

A solution to see your PlayStation Stars points

PlayStation Stars is a loyalty program that rewards the PS5 & PS4 community. If you play or launch a game for example, by being registered with PS Stars, you will receive points. These can then be converted to unlock virtual items to display in the PS mobile app, or stored to acquire full games later when you have the necessary number of points to do so. The problem is that the service is currently down.

By going to the PS App icon, you can read the following message. “PlayStation Stars is currently experiencing issues. Our engineers are aware of the problem and are working to resolve it”. Since the incident, some have worried that the points system may be completely shut down, or even a complete reset. The extent of the damage remains to be determined, but in any case, the points for purchased games do not seem to be lost. Internet users were able to verify it after some somewhat complicated manipulations.

But according to Reddit forum user JazzlikeEngine783 (via PlayStationLifeStyle), there is a very simple method to see the status of your acquired PlayStation Stars points. It takes a few hours, but logically, you should hear back from Sony. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Go to the PS App on your smartphone
  • Click on the Settings wheel, then Privacy Settings
  • Scroll down to “Data Access Request”
  • Press “Request data”

Sony will send an email with a link to open. Once opened, you should see the history of PlayStation Stars points and thus ensure whether your purchases were taken into account during the outage.
