a ton of surprises confirmed for upcoming games

Tomb Raider will be back next month with three completely remastered cult games. The studio is adding to the excitement by revealing a ton of new features and many surprises.

The Tomb Raider license will return soon with a big game currently in development at Crystal Dynamics. Developed under Unreal Engine 5, we don’t yet know much about this new adventure except that it should make the link between all the timelines of the beautiful Englishwoman (we hope that they will forget Angel of Darkness anyway ). But before that, Lara will make us relive her first three journeys in a remastered version which already promises to be ultra generous.

Three Tomb Raider games for the price of one

Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered, a completely revamped trilogy developed by Aspyr, the studio which has already touched the license since it is they who took care of the PC ports of the first episodes. This time, the developers have dedicated themselves to giving a fresh look to the first three games in the license released more than 20 years ago, even more.

It doesn’t make us any younger, but Lara hasn’t aged a bit. For this re-release of the three cult games, Aspyr opted for a clear graphical improvement, while retaining the old school and angular appearance of the era. Double reason for this, already because they relied on the original source code, but also because it will be possible to switch graphics (modern and original) on the fly.

This is only a very small surprise since the studio took advantage of the PlayStation Blog columns to announce that the gameplay would be completely revised with much smoother controls than at the time. However, it will still be possible to opt for the original experience by going through the menus. Tomb Raider Remastered should therefore satisfy everyone, early fans and the curious.

A ton of new features and lots of surprises for the remaster trilogy

The compilation will also include a whole bunch of trophies/achievements. On PS5, we should certainly be entitled to one platinum per game and some trophies for the entire trilogy. We will see. What is certain, however, is that the game will be full of content. In addition to all the revised and modernized models, all the bonus and secret levels will be included. At the time, they were only available to PC players, but this time, all players will be able to enjoy them. Unfinished Business for TR1, Golden Mask for TR2 and The Lost Artefact for TR3. Enough to further increase the lifespan of each game.

Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered will be available on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch and PC from February 14. Not content with teasing us all of its new features, the studio affirmed that a large number of surprises had not yet been revealed. The appointment is made.
