Currently filming, the film Batgirl for HBO Max welcomes a new actress to the cast. This is Ivory Aquino, seen in the series In their gaze, The Chronicles of San Francisco, When We Rise and New Amsterdam, according to Deadline.
She will play Alysia Yeoh, bartender and best friend of Barbara Gordon alias Batgirl (Leslie Grace). Aside from her relationship with the superheroine, Alysia is also a transgender woman and she will be the first major transgender character to appear in a DC live-action film adaptation.

The actress and transgender activist joins an exceptional cast as we find JK Simmons (Jim Gordon), Michael Keaton (Batman), Brendan Fraser (Firefly) and Jacob Scipio in an unknown role for the moment.
No precise information has filtered for the moment on the plot of Batgirl, whose screenplay has been entrusted to Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash). The film, slated for HBO Max, is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the duo behind Bad Boys For Life.
