At the time, she reportedly contracted herpes so painful that she could no longer walk. In tears, the 23-year-old claimed she had never had sex before and suspected R. Kelly of him “intentionally transmitting the disease.”
Despite the many testimonies that overwhelm him, R. Kelly pleads not guilty. In addition to this trial in New York, he also faces criminal charges related to child sexual abuse in Illinois and Minnesota, United States. If the singer is found guilty, he risks life imprisonment.
