a video of the fights that absolutely does not make you dream

Sonic Frontiers has had a new release permit to reveal its fights at length. Unfortunately, it’s running fast on empty and it’s still not engaging for a game due out in 2022.

Sonic Frontiers has made its gameplay debut and for a first, the blue hedgehog is far from having made a good impression. Despite the criticism, Sega is rolling out its communication plan and here is 6 minutes of fights.

Sonic Frontiers does not shine by its fights either

Our colleagues from IGN had the exclusivity of the reveal of Sonic Frontiers and showered us with media through their “First” video format. After the exploration, the “puzzles” and the clipping galore, the Japanese publisher decided to show the fights of the game, and it is still not famous. In terms of movements, Sega’s mascot can distribute a series of kicks with a priori more powerful attacks where Sonic goes into the air before returning to his target. We can already distinguish huge camera problems with points of view where the empty environments and aerial structures are even more shocking.

It’s only at the end where the battles of Sonic Frontiers can give some hope. Instead of small fry, the hedgehog goes after a mechanical colossus. To defeat it, two possibilities exist: by climbing to its top to hit its “antennae”, or by turning around its legs or arms (difficult as the design is “special”) in order to flush out another weak point. And then in all that, there is also still this feeling of an assembly without much coherence.

Sonic Frontiers is due out late 2022 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
