A Warhammer RPG Unfolds!

The developers behind the very Pathfinder Kingmaker announce with great fanfare that they are working on a Warhammer RPG, simply called Rogue Trader. Explanations!

This new Warhammer game is therefore produced in collaboration with Games Workshop and will be released on PC and consoles. In it, players will take on the role of a Rogue Trader, the descendants of an ancient dynasty of corsairs. The latter rule over their own merchant empire and explore areas of Imperial space with the Emperor’s blessing.

A Warhammer game yes, but an RPG!

We are not going to go there in fours, an RPG in the Warhammer 40,000 universe is quite rare. The action takes place in the expanses of Koronu. This will leave the opportunity to meet many traveling companions. Including a Space Marine, an Aeldari Ranger and a Battle-Sister. Other characters will also be available.

Oleg Shpilchevsky, director of Owlcat Games explains:

We are really excited to open a new chapter in the history of Owlcat Games. Working on a universe as remarkable as that of Warhammer 40,000 is a great honor but also a responsibility and a challenge for our team. The grim darkness of the 41st millennium is a harsh place of evil, sacrifice, threats, and countless challenges. This universe fits perfectly into a role-playing game that offers the player great freedom of choice.

We strive to bring to the game everything that fans of the cRPG genre love and expect: crucial decisions, non-linear stories, a strong and diverse cast of companions, and addictive and complex game systems to master.

Note that the developers have just set up an interesting system to “participate in development”. This means that you can support the game by purchasing one of the Founder’s Packs and thus have access to the alpha and beta versions of the game. The Founder’s Packs are available on the Owlcat Games website.
