A Windows update will boost GPU performance!

The next Windows 11 update is likely to bring a significant boost to our AMD graphics cards. This is what to remember.

If you are the proud owner of an AMD graphics card, know that you will most likely get a nice performance boost thanks to the Windows 11 22H2 update.

AMD is catching up

Indeed, the so-called 22H2 update of Windows 11 will allow AMD to catch up on Nvidia in OpenGL. For the record, this is an API for rendering by rasterization, a rendering method consisting of transforming/converting a vector image into a raster image. By extension, rasterization also includes all the processes that improve the final appearance of the 3D rendering.

What you must remember

Even if the technique behind it seems complex, the main thing is that this Windows 11 update obviously significantly increases the performance of AMD graphics cards in OpenGL applications. We are talking here about performance increases of 55% on the Valley 2013 benchmark. Amateur testers and clever guys from Guru3D also noted 33% better performance on the Unigine Superposition benchmark.

Note also that AMD for its part will also release new drivers to unify all of this and perhaps bring some optimization to other OpenGL titles.

We are therefore clearly on a big contribution thanks to this Windows update. Day and night will some say?
