Michelin-starred chef Kelly Rangama returns to France TV with a new season of her show “Voyages et délices”, a culinary world tour showcasing traditional dishes from overseas. Invited to Philippe Vandel’s microphone in “Culture Médias”, the chef, who also has a restaurant in Paris, assures us that it is possible for a woman to have these two hats.
Nothing is impossible for Kelly Rangama. The starred chef, unveiled in the show Top chef in 2017, now has its own restaurant in Paris, Le Faham, in the 17th arrondissement of Paris. And, she also hosts the new season of the program “Voyages et délices”, which offers a culinary world tour highlighting traditional dishes from overseas. Invited to the microphone of Philippe Vandel, Kelly Rangama returned to her impressive journey which, she hopes, will inspire other women to embark on great projects.
Giving hope to women
“We are not many as women in the world of haute cuisine,” she laments. “It’s a pride to be a chef today. And it’s possible to combine a restaurant and a cooking show on the side. I hope a lot of women watch the show and say to themselves ‘hey, possible'”.
Two dreams come true: a baby and a Michelin star
Mother of a little boy since October 2021, Kelly Rangama explains living at a hundred miles an hour: “It’s sporting. It’s a high-level race every day. It’s an organization to put in place”. The starred chef must also deal with her endometriosis. It’s on the show Chiefs that she had revealed to suffer from this gynecological disease causing debilitating pelvic pain and also, in some cases, infertility.
“This show was a step, a revelation in my life,” she explains on Europe 1. “It’s the first time I’ve spoken publicly about the disease that has affected me for a few years and which changed our lives in Jérôme, my husband, and I. When we started on this show, I was pregnant and we had two dreams in our lives: to have a Michelin star and to have a child. Kelly Rangama got her star before the arrival of her baby, which gives her “so much happiness”.
