A 35-year-old woman was burned alive on January 22 in Lyon, after being sprayed with white spirit by her ex-companion.
His days are not in danger. But the 35-year-old will keep for life the traces of this despicable aggression. The facts took place on January 22 around 5:20 p.m., in the 1st arrondissement of Lyon, reports Franceinfo. During an argument, her 36-year-old ex-boyfriend doused her with white spirit and set her on fire.
The victim wanted to end their relationship
This homeless man of Romanian nationality, according to Lyon Mag, then fled before going to the police station of the 1st arrondissement of the city where he was placed in police custody. The man was drunk when he presented himself to the police, specifies Franceinfo. Burned in the face, chest and arms, the victim survived. According to information from the regional daily Progress, the man allegedly attacked the young woman because she wanted to end their relationship.
An investigation is underway to attempted murder by ex-spouse. According to the latest report from the Ministry of the Interior, 102 women were killed by their spouse or ex-spouse in 2020, after 146 in 2019. Since January 1, 2022, at least three women have already been killed by their spouse.
