A 19-year-old hitchhiker couple was assaulted by a man in Villelaure (Vaucluse). He raped the young woman before running away.
The facts unfolded at the end of September. A couple, originally from Lyon, hitchhiked on the roads of Lubéron in order to leave the town of Mérindol in the Vaucluse. A man in his thirties decides to take them in his vehicle. If at the start, everything seemed normal, arrived at Villelaure, the journey turns into a tragedy: the man stopped at the side of the road to violently attack the young people. By threatening them with a handgun, he first assaulted the couple and then stole money from them. He then used the threat of his weapon to force the young woman to give him a blowjob before raping her in front of her partner. The perpetrator then fled. Left on the side of the road, in shock, the couple immediately called the gendarmes of the Pertuis search brigade, rbrings the newspaper La Provence.
The police managed to identify the man quickly, in particular thanks to CCTV cameras. The individual was finally arrested at his home on September 29 and admitted the facts while in police custody. Still according to La Provence, he would have been indicted on October 1, for “rape and extortion with a weapon” as well as “willful violence resulting in incapacity for work for less than eight days”. He was then remanded in custody.
