A 24-year-old woman and her 28-year-old companion have been on trial since January 10 for a murder preceded by rape and acts of torture. As reported by Voix du Nord, the victim is the mother of the accused.
An unlikely story. The facts date back to July 2017. Catherine Dewyndt, aged 58, was killed in her studio in Roubaix. His body was only discovered two days after his murder and this one shows traces of blows and burns from boiling water. His autopsy will also reveal sexual abuse. As reported by Voix du Nord, the two accused have been on trial since Monday, January 10, by the Nord Assize Court. for a murder preceded by rape and acts of torture. The first is Marina, the victim’s daughter, and her companion, Sullivan. It was the young woman who alerted the police on July 28, 2017 and said she had “found the lifeless body of his mother and evokes a suicide“, can we read. However, she is quickly placed in police custody. The reason? Inconsistency in his schedule. Facing the investigators, she ends up confessing to the murder. “She talks about revenge linked to sexual abuse committed by her mother during her childhood“, is it then explained. Indeed, Marina was “rtaken away from her parents at the age of 18 months because of their alcoholism then placed in a foster family and in a home“, concludes the Voice of the North.
A second suspect. Sullivan, Marina’s companion, was arrested shortly after the incident. However, investigators often doubted the victim’s daughter since she changed version several times. While in police custody, the young woman, only 20 years old at the time of the events, claimed to be behind the murder from his mother. “She had taken it all on her including the rapes and the boiling water burns“, is it written. However, it is during instruction that she said something different. While she had initially cleared Sullivan, she ended up referring to him as the “mastermind of aggression“, can we read. Indeed, she had implied that her actions were forced and that she had obeyed her companion. “She said she acted under his influence“, is it then explained. For his part, Sullivan had defended himself, assuring that he had “did not participate in the crimes“. However the young man, aged 28 today, has a very bad reputation since he is described as a “aggressive and violent man“.

Catherine Dewyndt was a 58 year old woman who lived in Roubaix. She weighed less than 40 kilos and was a “woman undermined by alcohol, in very poor physical and mental condition“, explains the Voice of the North.
