Better known for its one-piece speakers, Audio Pro ventured last April into the market of active stereo speakers in column format, with the A38, and bookshelf, with the A28. These first two tests seem to have been conclusive, since the Swedish brand is reissuing the A38 with a more massive and more powerful format: the A48.
The A48 system is therefore composed of a pair of active stereo speakers in column format which feature a very refined design, the Scandinavian brand’s business card. Each speaker measures 87 x 21.5 x 26.5 cm for 7.5 kg and features a 2” tweeter (about 5 cm) and two 5.25” speakers (about 13.3 cm). All this little world is supported by class D amplifiers: 2 of 130 W and 2 of 30 W.

Like many of its products, Audio Pro has packed the A48 with plenty of connection options. On the back of the left speaker, there is an HDMI ARC port, an RCA input and an optical S/PDIF input. The system can therefore be suitable for a home-cinema installation, especially since an output for connecting a subwoofer is provided for this purpose. This connection is supplemented by the presence of a Bluetooth chip and wifi connectivity. The system is thus compatible with Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect but also with the multiroom protocols AirPlay 2, Google Cast and Audio Pro (proprietary protocol).
The A48s are already available in black or white at a price of €1,200 a pair.
