PARIS, March 29 (Reuters) – The pharmaceutical group AB Science announced on Tuesday that it was studying the possibility of appealing the fine of one million euros imposed by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for breaches of its obligations. market information.

In a decision handed down on March 24 and made public on March 28, the AMF’s sanctions commission imposed a fine on the company for having “failed to fulfill its obligation to publish privileged information as soon as possible” within the framework of the marketing authorization dossier for masitinib for the treatment of mastocytosis.

“If it (AB Science, editor’s note) indicates that it has not received any complaints from investors, the fact remains that it deprived them of the knowledge of this information for 1 month and 10 days”, underlined the AMF in his decision.

“In view of (the) difference in assessment relating to a technical point relating to one of the criteria for the deferred disclosure of privileged information, as well as the amount of the sanction imposed, AB Science is studying the advisability of appeal this decision,” the pharmaceutical group said in a statement.

“The amount of the penalty of one million euros seems difficult to understand when AB Science is not considered to have benefited in any way from this alleged late communication”, continues the company.
