These wide dresses are now considered by the government as clothing of a religious nature, and are therefore prohibited within public schools, where the principle of religious neutrality linked to secularism applies. Many questions arise on the eve of the start of the new school year, in particular to know whether or not it will be possible to succeed in prohibiting anyone appearing at the entrance of an establishment dressed in an abaya or a qamis.
“There may be incidents here or there”
