(CercleFinance.com) – ABB announces that it had to deal with ‘a computer security incident’ which impacted some of its systems.
ABB has launched an investigation, engaged leading experts, informed certain law enforcement and data protection authorities and implemented measures to contain and assess the incident. According to the company, ‘the incident has been successfully contained’ and ‘all key ABB services and systems are operational’.
ABB has determined that an unauthorized third party has accessed certain ABB systems, deployed ransomware and exfiltrated certain data.
The company is working to identify and analyze the nature and scope of the data involved and is further evaluating its notification obligations.
While the investigation is still in its early stages, ABB says it remains committed to working diligently with law enforcement, customers, suppliers, partners and advisors to resolve this situation and minimize its impact.
