(CercleFinance.com) – On the occasion of the new Formula E season – which will start this weekend on the Mexico City track – ABB will introduce its innovative energy management software solution, called ABB Ability™ OPTIMAX®, to maximize the energy efficiency of operations.
Already tested during last season, the solution will be used this year – and from this weekend – for the first time in a live racing environment, underlines ABB, already official partner of the discipline as far as recharging is concerned.
‘ABB Ability™ OPTIMAX® will allow championship engineers to monitor and analyze total race-specific energy production, contributing to more efficient use.
Thus, up to 14 measuring boxes will collect data on the quantity of electrical energy (kilowatts) used by the teams and the quantity of electricity consumed over a given period (kilowatt hours).
This information will be transmitted to the race control via the Microsoft Azure cloud, specifies ABB.
