(CercleFinance.com) – ABB announces that the company Red Eléctrica, responsible for the transmission and operation of the Spanish electricity system, has awarded it four orders for synchronous capacitors to strengthen the electricity network of the Canary and Balearic Islands.
This equipment will improve the quality of supply and support the energy transition by integrating more renewable energy. The idea is to stabilize island networks and facilitate the decarbonization of energy production.
ABB specifies that the project is part of the 2021-2026 Grid Development Plan, aiming to achieve 67% renewable energy in the mix, in line with the objectives of Spain’s 2021-2030 National Integrated Energy-Climate Plan.
