Abeo confident in its supplies – 03/09/2022 at 08:44

(AOF) – Abeo assured that its activities were not significantly exposed to Russia or Ukraine, which represent approximately 1% of consolidated turnover. The manufacturer of sports and leisure equipment recalls relying on a multi-zone global organization, with production units based in Europe (France, Germany, Spain, Netherlands and United Kingdom), China, Canada, and in the USA. This organization enables it to ensure supplies as close as possible to customers.

In the very tense global geopolitical context, Abeo remains vigilant to the tensions on the prices of raw materials as well as to the fluidification of supplies.

The group has thus already ensured a good part of its medium-term supplies, in particular by having reinforced, before the crisis, its stocks of wood of Russian origin and is not experiencing any new tensions that have not already been anticipated.

The type of wood concerned, which represents less than 5% of the group’s raw material purchases, is the only material mainly supplied in Russia.

The group remains confident in its ability to develop other sources of supply in the coming months.

Abeo has not experienced any disruption in its supplies at any of its industrial sites which jeopardizes their ability to produce.

China becomes the leading consumer of French cosmetics

Exports of the French cosmetics sector fell by 11.8%, to 15.7 billion euros in 2020. The health crisis has disrupted production and logistics in the sector, which nevertheless retains its position as the second largest contributor to the positive foreign trade balance. France also maintains its position as world leader in the sector (24% market share).

In a movement similar to that of the luxury industry, China has become the leading market, ahead of Germany and the United States. In 2020, exports to this country jumped by 20.7%, while they fell by 15% to the United States and by 24% to Germany. According to the Federation of Beauty Companies, China is by far the leading buyer of French lipstick, with more than one in four lipsticks exported.
