After a season full of surprises and twists and turns, Abi was crowned winner of the ninth season of The Voice, Saturday June 13. The shy English teacher won against the other finalists since he obtained the majority of the votes (53.4%). Invited in Daily, Monday, June 15, Abi went back on his victory in the program of TF1. Questioned by Yann Barthès, he also mentioned the racism of which he was already the victim in his journey. "This is something quite common in our lives. Unfortunately, it happens to me. It's something that is part of my life ", he said. And to continue: "In the job, I have the chance to work in places where I do not suffer it but in the street, outside yes. These are not reflections but reactions." The winner of The Voice, then cited a rather convincing example. "Entering an elevator with a lady who will protect her bag by thinking that I will steal it for example or people who will be a little wary with me", he revealed.
Abi supported by his family
Despite difficult moments, the young man is enjoying his victory today. His coach Pascal Obispo did not hide his joy by even forgetting the barrier gestures. A euphoria that he found with his family, who supported him throughout this incredible adventure. "They all told me that they knew and that they were calm about my victory. They believe in me and support me enormously. They were right", said the native of Haiti in TV Star before making moving secrets about her disabled sister. "Unfortunately, my princess does not have the cognitive skills to realize my victory", he explained. And to add: "I want to enjoy it all with her. We share moments, moments of silence and we say things through our hearts. "
