abusive microtransactions? Ubi responds!

Will the return to the roots of Assassin’s Creed Mirage be ruined by microtransactions and other invasive lootboxes? Ubisoft took the floor to disentangle the true from the false.

The publication of the Assassin’s Creed Mirage sheet on the Xbox store caused cold sweats among players.

Betting with real money in Assassin’s Creed Mirage?

The description of AC Mirage was enough to panic. Not for the presence of “intense violence, blood and gore, sexual themes or partial nudity” but good for these two words “Real Gambling”. In other words, gambling with real money.

A mistake ? Yes, because in truth, the game has not even been studied by the ESRB, the American video game rating organization. Here is Ubisoft’s official response to this hot topic:

Following the announcement of Assassin’s Creed Mirage during Ubisoft Forward, several stores mistakenly displayed an ESRB “Adults Only” rating. Although AC Mirage is still awaiting classification, Ubisoft wants to reassure players. There is no gambling with real money, nor lootboxes.

This episode will be a return to basics including in its lifespan since it will be a much shorter opus than the previous ones. During its event, Ubisoft also announced a big, dark, different game, Assassin’s Creed Hexe, and made a fan dream come true with Assassin’s Creed Red. See you in 2023 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC.
