After AC / DC had the strongest album start in 2020 with "Power Up", they also secured number one in the annual charts.

Only three full weeks of strong sales were enough for the cult rockers from AC / DC to not only have the strongest album start in 2020 with their new album "Power Up", but also to rock their way to the top of the official German annual charts. As GfK Entertainment announces, Angus Young (65) and Co. are following in the footsteps of Rammstein, who greeted the top of the charts at the end of 2019.

It is noticeable that, besides AC / DC, only one other international act has made it into the top ten of the annual album charts: Metallica landed at number seven with their second classic-meets-metal opus "S&M 2". All other places are occupied exclusively by German acts, all of whom also sing in German.

The Weeknd tops singles charts

In the single charts, things look very different again. Here the Canadian rapper The Weeknd (30) was able to snatch the crown with "Blinding Lights". The hit "Dance Monkey" by the Australian singer-songwriter Tones and I (22) is in second place. Behind them, the first German act makes itself comfortable: Rapper and singer Apache 207 (23) secured third place with "Roller".
