“Acapulco” was renewed for a third season by Apple TV+ in January 2023. Now the streaming service is finally announcing a launch date for spring 2024.

“Acapulco” continued the story of 20-year-old Máximo Gallardo (Enrique Arrizon), who in 1980 fulfills his dream of becoming a pool boy at Las Colinas, the hottest resort in Acapulco.

In season 3, however, the young man has to deal with restructuring at the resort, unexpected problems at home and a new love interest. Meanwhile, Don Pabolo takes Máximo under his wing and teaches him how he could one day run the entire Las Colinas. In return he becomes Diane’s right-hand man.

Meanwhile, the elderly Máximo (Eugenio Derbez) returns to Acapulco to make peace with the recent death of Don Pablo. There he is forced to deal with unfinished business that the young Máximo left behind.

All cast members from previous seasons are expected to return for the third season of “Acapulco”. In addition to the main actors Eugenio Derbez (“The Parker”) and Enrique Arrizon (“Expira”), this also includes Fernando Carsa, Damián Alcázar, Camila Perez, Chord Overstreet (“Glee”), Vanessa Bauche, Regina Reynoso, Raphael Alejandro, Jessica Collins , Rafael Cebrián, Carlos Corona and Regina Orozco.

It was also confirmed that “Schmigadoon!” and “Jane the Virgin” star Jaime Camil will take on a role in season 3. He plays Alejandro, the brother of one of Mexico’s richest men and the new co-owner of Las Colinas. He works alongside Diane and will ruin her life in the hotel. Jaime Camil is a star not only in the USA, but especially in Mexico, which makes him a top choice for the new role.

Acapulco Season 3: Production

“Acapulco” was created by Austin Winsberg (“Gossip Girl”), Eduardo Cisneros (“Sudden Father”) and Jason Shuman (“Winning Time: Rise of the Lakers”). Winsberg is also an executive producer on the series. Sam Laybourne (“The Roaring Nineties!”) will serve as showrunner and executive producer for season 3. Jay Karas (“The Denver Clan”) will be assisting him as director.

In addition to starring in the series, Eugenio Derbez (“Radical”) serves as executive producer alongside Ben Odell (“How to Be a Latin Lover”). Sonia Almanza Gambaro of 3Pas Studios is co-executive producer. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, along with Jason Wang, executive produce for The Tannenbaum Company. The series is produced by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios, Zihuatanejo Productions and The Tannenbaum Company.
