On Android, Google now gives the user the possibility of better sorting all of their photos. The photo selector allows you to display photos locally, but also those on the cloud.

Thanks to a small update, it is possible to better manage your Google photo library, without giving access exclusively to images stored on the smartphone. From now on, when you want to share a photo, you are greeted by a message inviting the user to also select their photos in Google Photos (or other).

From an interface point of view, everything is displayed via two tabs, with local photos on one side and those in the cloud on the other. Obviously, you can easily find all of the different folders there, as long as you synchronize your photos with different devices.

Of course, if this new function gives pride of place to Google Photos, nothing prevents the user from drawing from another online service, or even from not activating said function.

Officialized in February, this new update is currently being deployed. Please note that this is a server type update, which is therefore carried out without any action required from the user. All smartphones running Android 12 (and above) are affected.
