Accident in the Zillertal – car hits mother with stroller on protective route

A mother (30) and her seven-month-old baby were lucky in misfortune on Monday morning in Zell am Ziller (Schwaz district). They were hit by a car at a zebra crossing, but escaped relatively unscathed.

The 30-year-old Croatian pushed the stroller with her seven-month-old son in it across Rohrerstrasse in the municipality of Zell am Ziller around 10:30 a.m. on Monday. At that moment, a 30-year-old local man was driving his car down the street. The exact cause of the accident is not known, but according to the police, the driver hit the woman at the zebra crossing. The 30-year-old fell and the stroller tipped over on its side. Luckily the boy was strapped in so he didn’t fall out. Mother and child were taken to the hospital. However, the baby was injured, as was the child’s mother. After initial care, the rescue took both of them to the hospital in Innsbruck. From there the all-clear came: According to the police, both of them probably only suffered bruises.
