Accident near Wildon – truck on the A 9 caught fire

A disturbing sight was presented to some drivers on Friday evening on the A 9 near Wildon in the direction of Graz: a truck was on fire there.

It was “uncanny” what was offered on Friday evening for pictures on the A 9 at the Wildon exit in the direction of Graz, writes “Krone” reader Natascha D. “When driving past, we felt the heat on the oncoming lane in the car.” So far, all we know is that an entire truck was ablaze on the roadway or was still on fire on Friday evening. The extinguishing operation is currently (as of 9:30 p.m.) still ongoing. It is still unclear whether people were injured. Drivers must avoid the federal highway. The highway is closed at Wildon, traffic is diverted to the federal highway in front of it. The police suspect a technical defect as the cause of the fire, as there is no second vehicle involved. But that could only be confirmed after the fire.
