Accidents in Hochgurgl – Two seriously injured in collisions on ski slopes

Two fatal collisions within just one hour occurred on Friday on ski slopes in Tyrol’s Hochgurgl. Two winter sports enthusiasts suffered serious injuries and had to be rescued by the piste rescuers.

The first skiing accident happened around 11 a.m.: A German winter athlete (52) and a 62-year-old Frenchman got in each other’s way. The collision caused both of them to fall. While the woman got away with the shock, the man sustained serious injuries to his chest. After the first aid at the scene of the accident, the vacationer was taken to the valley and consequently to a doctor. British vacationers collided and about an hour later it crashed again in the Hochgurgl ski area. A 72-year-old British woman collided with a compatriot (57). The latter suffered a serious knee injury and also had to be taken away by the piste rescue service. The 72-year-old was unharmed.
