Accor: New Independent Director proposed for the 2022 Annual General Meeting

(Boursier.com) – The group’s Board of Directors Accor has decided to submit the appointment of Mrs. Hélène Auriol Potier to the approval of the next General Meeting, which will be called upon to approve the financial statements for the fiscal year ended December 31, 2021.
This proposed appointment follows Ms. Sophie Gasperment’s decision not to have her term of office proposed for renewal, after 12 years as a director of the Accor Group. The Board of Directors thanks Ms. Sophie Gasperment for her strong involvement and significant contribution to the work of the Board since 2010, and for having chaired the Appointments, Compensation and CSR Committee in recent years.

The appointment of Mrs. Hélène Auriol Potier is in line with the Board’s desire to strengthen its skills in the world of technology and digital, in order to continue to support the Group in this area.

Ms. Auriol Potier has built her career in the digital technologies and telecommunications sector in the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia. She began her career at France Telecom in New York in 1986. In 1990, Ms. Auriol Potier joined the Canadian mobile technology company Nortel Networks Corporation, where she spent sixteen years and held various management positions, notably as Division Vice-President. Mobile Global Sales then Vice-President EMEA, Services & Operations. In 2006, Mrs. Auriol Potier joined Dell Technologies Inc as Managing Director Africa, Mediterranean and EEC. She then joined Microsoft Corporation and held several management positions there for ten years, namely Managing Director of Microsoft Singapore, Managing Director of Microsoft Dynamics Europe, then Managing Director Artificial Intelligence Europe. From November 2018 to December 2020, she held the position of Executive Vice-President of Orange’s international activities, then a member of the Orange Business Services Executive Committee. Ms. Auriol Potier has also held several directorships in Europe and in the United States.
