The “Krone” report on the care crisis in the Klagenfurt clinic made waves. Politicians are demanding quick solutions to avoid endangering patients.
In a letter, the Kabeg works council threatened to report the clinic to the medical directorate because of the precarious working conditions. SP State Deputy Beate Prettner is therefore demanding solutions from the nursing department and Kabeg management: “An endangerment of patients and employees must be prevented under all circumstances.” The state has been supporting Kabeg for months in providing staff. Meanwhile, FP social spokesman Harald Trettenbrein is calling for a radical change of course in training – such as a nursing apprenticeship – and additional financial incentives.
