Accusation: 17 burglaries – accused: “Police pushed us DNA traces”

An accused Czech couple (32, 30) denied having committed 17 burglaries in the Salzburg Regional Court – despite the overwhelming evidence.

They were in the Salzburg tourism communities of Flachau, Altenmarkt, Grossarl as well as in Vienna and Oetz in Tyrol – but obviously not for vacation: 17 times a Czech couple (30, 32) is said to have broken into living spaces, especially hotel rooms . According to the indictment, they are said to have stolen 13,000 euros. But at the trial on Tuesday in Salzburg, the two petite defendants denied the allegations. Hotel stays paid with mom’s money According to the indictment, the series of burglaries began in December 2022 – in Grossarl. In January, the couple was in Flachau, as hotel recordings show: “What did you do there?” asked the judge. “We went skiing,” replied the previously impeccable Czech. And in Altenmarkt? “We were in the thermal baths,” replied the 30-year-old. They want to have financed the stays with money from their mother. They blamed the police for the seized and unmasking DNA traces: The traces on a handkerchief had been foisted on them by the officers, said the accused. She stayed with her, although the prosecutor repeatedly pointed out possible defamation. The partner said something similar: he knew nothing about the fingerprints he found in Vienna. “I was with my grandfather in Brno.” Trial adjourned.
