Korean influencer Cho Jang-mi (Jammi) died on Saturday February 5. She killed herself following online harassment. She was only 27 years old.

Cho Jang-mi, known from social networks in South Korea as Jammi, died at the age of 27 on February 5. Although Jammi did not show it, this influencer suffered from depression. She was also the target of harassment on social networks since 2019. The cause of his death would be suicide according to his family. Note that this young woman mainly used the Twitch platform to exchange with its 169,000 subscribers. However, behind this popularity were hidden many hate messages.

Indeed, Cho Jang-mi was accused of misandry and been bullied for years. In 2019, this influencer would have done a gesture letting it be known that she hated men. This while she was shooting a live video on Twitch. At the time, it was his mother who managed and moderate hate commentsaccording to The Guardian. Sadly, Cho Jang-mi’s nerves didn’t hold up. She is dead by committing suicide a year after mass harassment.

Cyberbullying: a real deadly scourge

Sadly, Cho Jang-mi’s case is not an isolated case. Indeed, his tragic death echoes with many other suicide cases including that of Sulli, the K-Pop star. Recall that the latter died in October 2019. This singer and actress then 25 years old was rfound dead by her manager at her home in Seongnam, south of Seoul.
