A man from Tangier in Morocco tied his wife up before brutally assaulting her after accusing her of cheating on him. The video footage was then posted on social media.
A Moroccan from the city of Tangier posted a particularly shocking video on social media. The man violently attacked his wife, accusing her of adultery. Indeed, under the pretext of deception, he "inflicted physical assaults on a naked and bound woman", explains the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) in a press release.
It was the central service responsible for crimes related to new technologies that discovered the footage posted on social networks.
The operation carried out by elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of the city of Tangier, in collaboration with the services of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) required the opening of a preliminary investigation. This identified the location where the video was recorded as well as the perpetrator, a 28-year-old man. The latter was taken into custody for the purposes of the investigation.
Unfortunately, the fate reserved for the young woman is not an isolated case. Violence against women is frequent in Morocco. Indeed, 54.4% of women have been victims of violence, according to the latest national survey of the Ministry of the Family published in May 2019. However, only 28.2% of abused women contacted a person or an institution. , and 6.6% filed a complaint against their attacker.

A Moroccan influencer, Ghita called "Baddunes", also created an instagram page to free the words of women victims of violence sexual. The page now has 45,400 subscribers and several hundred testimonials.
