Acer announced just before the weekend two new Laptops. The first is a 16-inch gamer, the second a 14-inch ultraportable. Both are banking on high-end display quality and the new “Meteor Lake” mobile processors, made official by Intel last week.

Brand new technical sheet, rather reasonable prices (at least on paper), and top notch display quality. Less than a month before CES Acer is looking to make a good impression with two new products: the Predator Triton Neo 16 on one side, and the Swift Go 14 OLED 2024 on the other. Both are among the first devices equipped with Intel’s latest mobile chips.

The Predator Triton Neo 16: Core Ultra, 3K screen and (relatively) low price

Let’s start by presenting the Predator Triton Neo 16. Expected in March in our latitudes, and starting at 1,799 euros, the device will be able to count in its best-equipped version on a 16-inch 3.2K screen capable of going up to 165 Hz. This IPS panel will cover 100% of the DCI-P3 spectrum and will be verified by Calman, specifies Acer, in order to offer the most serious calibration possible and therefore faithful colors.

Acer has not yet sent us the precise details of the components available with this new Triton Neo 16, but we know that the machine will be able to count on Intel Core Ultra H series processors, coupled with GeForce RTX (up to to the 4070 obviously). All these beautiful people will be kept cool by the AeroBlade 5 device developed by Acer, but also by the addition of liquid metal to the CPU.

Acer also explains that it has taken advantage of the AI integrated into new Intel processors to improve noise reduction and spatial filtering during audio exchanges or recordings using its Purified Voice 2.0 technology. Thanks to it, players should benefit from clearer communications on the Triton Neo 16.

The device will also feature two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports and an HDMI 2.1 output, among others. Unfortunately Acer is still limited to a microSD reader which will probably not be of use to many people (videographers and photographers need a full-size SD card reader).

Swift Go 14: light, powerful and enhanced by OLED

Equipped as much as possible with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, the Acer Go 14 OLED aims for mobility and productivity. Already available from 1199 euros in Europe, the device is supposed to offer up to 12 hours and 30 minutes of battery life. There is also a 1440p webcam, like the one installed on the Swift Go 14 2023.

For the rest, we find in particular two USB-C ports, an HDMI port, a MicroSD slot (definitely…) and Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

In terms of measurements, this new Swift Go 14 does not exceed 14.9 mm for 1.32 kg, which remains compact and not too heavy for a machine equipped with an Intel “H” series processor. And as for the display part, we learn that the device offers at least two 14-inch OLED screen options: a first 2.8K and 90 Hz panel fully covering the DCI-P3 gamut; and a Full HD+ touchscreen panel.

Logically, the Predator Triton Neo 16 like the Swift Go 14 2024 should be tested on Clubic over the next few months.
