Acer draws the Swift Edge, an ultrathin laptop with a 16-inch OLED screen

Acer is also getting into full-size, thin laptops with the Swift Edge. The Taiwanese manufacturer announces it as the lightest 16-inch in the world with its 1.17 kg on the scale, or 30 g less than a certain LG Gram 16. To accomplish this feat, the Swift Edge has a chassis made of an aluminum and magnesium alloy. The finesse is also required with 1.39 cm thick at its highest point.

On the screen side, Acer has seen big, of course, but also qualitative with a 16-inch Oled panel displaying no less than 3840 x 2400 pixels in 16/10 format. The Swift Edge will therefore be both productive and multimedia-oriented.

AMD Ryzen 6000, DDR5 and PCIe Gen4 SSD

Once is not custom, Acer turned to AMD to animate its Swift Edge. It is the Ryzen 6000 processor that will be at the heart of this ultraportable. Acer will use the entire range with the Ryzen 5 6600U (6C/12T), the Ryzen 7 6800U (8C/12T) as well as the versions for professionals with the Ryzen 5 Pro 6650U and Ryzen 7 Pro 6850U. These processors may be accompanied by 16 to 32 GB of RAM and 512 to 1 TB of PCIe Gen4 SSD, depending on their configuration.

The connection is up to standard with two USB-C 3.2 Gen2 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen1 ports and an HDMI 2.1 port. 6E wifi and Bluetooth 5.2 are also part of the trip. Finally, a webcam equipped with a 1080p sensor sits above the screen.

The Taiwanese manufacturer announces 7h30 of autonomy thanks to its 54 Wh battery, which we will not fail to verify during its test. For comparison, the LG Gram 16 and its 80 Wh battery lasted nearly 10 hours during its passage through our hands.

The Acer Swift Edge (SFA16-41) will be available in November from 1299 euros in its most modest configuration.
