Here is the Acer Spin 714, a high-end Chromebook that can carry a 12th generation Intel Core i7 processor.
Acer continues its series of announcements after those of the Swift 3 Oled and the Spin 3 and 5 ultraportables, the manufacturer presents a new high-end Chromebook: the Spin 714.
A 12th generation Intel processor for this new Chromebook
Real name CP714-1WN, the Chromebook Spin 714 features a 12th generation Intel Core processor, up to Core i7 depending on the configuration: according to Acer, it brings “20% performance improvement over previous generations“.
On connectivity, this Spin 714 has WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The keyboard is backlit and an option is available to take advantage of a fingerprint reader for unlocking the machine.
Autonomy to the point
This is one of the arguments of computers and tablets under Chrome OS: the autonomy of these devices. The Acer Chromebook Spin 714 is not to be outdone since the manufacturer announces up to 10 hours of autonomy. A 30-minute charge recovers four hours of use.
Acer also relies on the fact that its latest computer can wake up in seconds. It can be recharged via one of the two Thunderbolt 4 ports it has, a connection supplemented by an HDMI port.
A 14-inch screen in 16:10 format for the Acer Chromebook Spin 714
This laptop is equipped with a 14-inch screen, touchscreen of course. Depending on the configuration, two definitions will be available: a WQXGA of 2560 by 1600 pixels and a WUXGA of 1920 by 1200 pixels. A screen that will necessarily have Gorilla Glass and a 16:10 format always.
If in videoconference you should see your interlocutors well, this should be the case for them too since there is a Full HD webcam. For the microphone, Acer incorporates a “temporal noise reduction technology“. Finally, what makes the obvious charm of a computer from the Spin range is the fact that the screen can be rotated 360°, so that it can be used as a tablet.
Acer Chromebook Spin 714 price and availability
This laptop under Chrome OS will be available in France in August from 879 euros; count 979 euros for its version “Company“.
