Do you have to ruin yourself to acquire a good notebook gaming
? Certainly not if we are to believe Acer, whose Nitro 5 AN515-57-5220 offers everything you need to play in good conditions, including an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 GPU to support the latest display technologies.

Until December 24, Clubic opens a box of his sound every day Advent calendar 2021
: the opportunity to discover unusual or practical gadgets, gift ideas, for oneself or for loved ones.

A glance at the datasheet tells us right off the bat that the Nitro 5’s equipment is remarkably consistent. Built around an Intel Core i5 i5-11400H processor, it has 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 256 GB M.2 NVMe SSD and a 1 TB hard drive. The SSD will be used mainly for storage here. Windows and frequently used data, while the hard drive can house traditional files, data, and programs.

The Nitro 5’s screen consists of a matte-finished IPS LCD panel displaying 1,980 x 1,080 pixels, with a refresh rate of 144 frames per second. Enough to allow a fluid display in game, especially with the power of the GPU chosen by Acer for its machine: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060, equipped with innovative technologies.

The GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card is indeed built on Ampere technology which brings many improvements over previous generations. Among the most important, we can mention DLSS (for Deep Learning Super Sampling), which relies on deep learning to create a more beautiful image while using less of the GPU.

Ampere technology

DLSS uses artificial intelligence to recreate the image in a higher definition than that calculated by the GPU, to provide the missing information. The result is then much more pleasing to the eye and the GPU is not as strained as if it had had to provide the image in a higher resolution. The resources freed up in this way can then be allocated to other tasks, thereby improving the final rendering and the fluidity of actions.

In addition, to respond to the upsurge in games streamed on platforms such as Twitch, the GeForce RTX 3060 integrates the NVIDIA Nvenc feature, a real-time video encoder that allows you to format a video stream before streaming it.

NVIDIA Broadcast

With the NVIDIA GPU, the encoding of the stream to be broadcast is therefore performed by a specific component. The resources of the CPU and the graphics processor are thus not over-stretched, which makes it possible to mobilize them for carrying out complex calculations.

Better still: Nvenc perfectly complements NVIDIA Broadcast, which improves audio and video before transmission. Based on powerful artificial intelligence algorithms, Broadcast eliminates sound interference (keyboard key noise, parasitic audio, etc.) as well as digital noise present in the image. Finally, Broadcast makes it possible to embed an artificial background in the image in a very realistic way.

Thus, for a reasonable price in this product range, Acer offers here a machine perfectly optimized for Full HD gaming, with particular care given to the heat dissipation system.

Consisting of a double ventilation mechanism and having four ventilation outlets, the Nitro 5 indeed embeds the CoolBoost technology specific to Acer. This allows the cooling capacity to be temporarily increased in the event of intensive calculations, without however making the machine too noisy.
