Pillar of the series star trek discovery and Broadway veteran, American actor Anthony Rapp, now 50, was an early accuser of Kevin Spacey in 2017, when the #MeToo movement began to free the voices of victims of sexual assault on trays.

He gave his key testimony on Friday in New York in the context of the civil lawsuit against the Oscar-winning actor.Usual Suspects and American Beauty. Anthony Rapp accuses 63-year-old Kevin Spacey of sexual assault. And claims 40 million dollars in damages. The facts date back to 1986. Rapp was then 14 years old and an apprentice Broadway actor. Spacey is also a young theater actor, an almost unknown barely 27 years old.

Teenage Rapp and young Spacey meet backstage at a New York theater and the latter invites him a week later to dinner with friends at his Manhattan studio. Once the guests have left the small party, Rapp remains seated on the edge of the bed, the TV on.

Kevin Spacey “came up to me, with a somewhat hesitant gait, carried me like a groom carries his bride”, testified Anthony Rapp, on the second day of the civil trial. In his deposition last June, Anthony Rapp explained that Kevin Spacey had himt “raised” and “his hand (had) rubbed the garment covering his buttocks for a few seconds”. Then, Spacey had “put Rapp on the bed, on his back, before lying down fully clothed, briefly, next to and on” him.

Deadpan Kevin Spacey

On Friday, Anthony Rapp repeated that Kevin Spacey hugged him and felt “his groin” against his teenage body. “I had the impression that it lasted a very long time, I felt paralyzed”, said in a trembling voice the actor, who remembers having managed to “extricate oneself” and leave the studio. Kevin Spacey didn’t show anything, just taking notes or crossing his arms.

Rapp’s attorney, Peter Saghir, accused the star of House of Cards to have sought “deliberately” tonight from 1986 to “to satisfy one’s sexual desires”.

In this civil trial, the initial charge of “sexual assault” was not retained by the American federal justice. The facts are considered statute-barred and outside the scope of a 2019 New York State child protection law, which may extend the statute of limitations. Justice has retained the charge of “harm to the physical integrity” of Anthony Rapp having caused “emotional distress”.
