  • His agency confirms that he died on the Italian island of Ischia on Sunday.
  • Stevenson was 58 years old. Details of the cause of death are not known.

The industry magazine “Deadline” recently reported that Stevenson will play the leading role in the film “Cassino in Ischia”.

Roles in «Das Boot» and «Star Wars»

Stevenson had his breakthrough as an actor with a leading role as a Roman legionnaire in the TV series “Rome” (2005-2007), later he was in several “Thor” film adaptations as Volstagg, one of the best friends of the eponymous Marvel hero see. As the musketeer Porthos in “The Three Musketeers” (2011) alongside Matthew Macfadyen and Logan Lerman, he thwarted the scheming Christoph Waltz, in “Vikings” (2020) he played the mysterious seafarer Othere.
