She succumbed to stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, while at a hospital in Bloomfield, New Jersey, as announced by her representative, Kyle Luker of Industry Entertainment. She was particularly known for her role as Alison Stewart in As the World Turns broadcast on CBS, but also for that of Jo Sullivan in You only live once on ABC.
Marnie Schulenburg’s cancer had been diagnosed in May 2020, after being mistaken for mastitis, five months after the birth of her daughter Coda. On social networks, she had mentioned the beginning of his long fight against cancer, which she described as “the most insidious, inflammatory breast cancer that does not look like the typical, more aggressive breast cancer that affects younger women and disguises itself as a breastfeeding infection“.
Zack Robidas: ‘Don’t Say Marnie Lost Her Battle With Cancer’
After more than ten years of relationship, Marnie Schulenburg married actor Zack Robidas in 2013. The couple who met on the set of the series Succession was tight-knit and often talked about the future, despite the actress’ cancer diagnosis. After his death, Zack Robidas wanted to talk about his wife on Facebook. “Please don’t say Marnie lost her battle with cancer. It is simply wrong. I’ve watched him kick cancer ass every day since diagnosis” he wrote.
Sad news for the family of Marnie Schulenburg, who had a lot of hope. On Saturday May 14, she had also shared photos with his daughter Coda, on the occasion of Mother’s Day. She had announced her joy at being released from the hospital to spend this important day with loved ones. The actress finally died less than a week later, just four days shy of her 38th birthday.
